New Gmail Emoticons

If you can't live without emoticons in your emails and think the one in Gmail are not enough, you'll be pleased to know that... you have a bunch of new emoticons waiting for you in the Labs section!

You just need to enable the "Extra Emoji" setting and you'll be able to use many more icons:

Fancy a glass of ?
Or maybe you just want to hop around like a ?
Or maybe even just  around in a path of happiness.

Just enable your extra emoji in Gmail and start spreading the emoticon love around! :)

    In your gmail web page, go to Settings (in the top right) then select the Labs tab, and you'll find the extra emoji enable/disbale toggle in there (as well as many other useful lab features.)

    Just click on the link to the lab section in the article.
    Then scroll down through the options until you get to the "extra emoji", and enable it.

    Then scroll to the bottom or top of the page and click "save settings".

    And it's done.

    Unfortunately these new emoticons are only available in the emails, and not it in the chat. :(

    For musical symbol, it depends on your country code.

    For musical symbols, you can just do alt+13 or alt+14: ♪♫, but on a laptop, do fn+alt+13 or 14.

    You should have labs enabled, but if you don't try accessing the following url to force it manually:
