Because search results aren't perfect, Google keeps experimenting with new ways to show you the data you're looking for.
After the recent launch of the much-hyped Wolfram Alpha, which - in my humble opinion - was a bit of a let down (although useful in certain specific areas) we can now play around with Google Squared.
For instance, searching for Portugal I get a table with some of the largest cities, its photos, description, population and coordinates.
Useful or nor, that's for each one to determine. Give it a try and let me know what you think. :)
