Windows 8 News

Having a lot of catching-up to do in the mobile segment, where iOS and Android are in the lead, Microsoft doesn't want to be left behind in the desktop and tablet market, and is already starting to show off the upcoming Windows 8, (although the "you're either with us or against us" attitude towards chip makers doesn't really suit them). But, let's see what this Windows 8 has to offer, and if it will have a chance to live in a Android ridden 2012 world...

Microsoft has realized the regular windows interface isn't that useful in a tablet/touch environment. So, the new Windows 8 will have a Windows Phone like, Live Tile user interface, allowing easy access to information  in a touch-friendly way.
Of course, underneath it all there's still the old regular Windows we all know... but for touch-only users... At least they'll get a usable Windows OS.

(Live tiles and Apps can be done in HTML5/javascript - which is nice.)

But, there are lots other hidden secrets in Windows 8. From the App store, to an hybrid boot mode allowing you to start windows in under 20 seconds, as well as less instrusive updates and automated performance auto-tuners and enhanced defrags for SSDs.
