iPad 3 coming on March 7
It's now officially confimed. Apple will be presenting its new, and much awaited iPad 3 on March the 7th.
It's teaser tagline seems to leave no doubt about what's coming: "We have something you really have to see." If that isn't a more than subtle hint at the upcoming retina display with an incredible 2046x1536 resolution, I don't know what is.
As for the second part of the teaser line: "And touch". Well... that's a bit more cryptic, and your guess is as good as mine: will Apple really be stepping forward and ditching the physical home button, replacing it by a touch button with no moving parts (maybe just with a bit of vibration/tactile feedback?) that can change according to the iPad orientation?
Or maybe it's the rumoured wider touch-enabled home button that will allow us to swipe between the active Apps.
After all, the constant double-clicking on the home button has now become one of the most annoying aspects of the otherwise "easy to use" iOS operation... and sooner or later Apple will have to do something about it.
Well... we'll know one week from now.
