Nexus 6 has a secret notification LED
The new Nexus 6 may have a AMOLED screen that enables it to just light the pixels needed to show notification messages, but some users might miss having a regular multi-colored LED light. Well, what you may not know is that it does have a RGB notification LED, but it's hidden from sight and disabled.
A XDA user was playing around with Light Flow (an app that allows you to control how to use an RGB notification LED in your Android device) and found out that the Nexus 6 to have a hidden LED hidden behind the speaker grill.
This isn't the first device to hide away a LED in that place- it's a clever solution to put it there - but the strange part is that neither Motorola nor Google seem to be using it for anything - not even to indicate charging, as there's a different LED just for that purpose.
So... what do you think might be the reason for this secret LED to be there, unused? Android 5.0 Lollipop has no problem using these notification LEDs in other devices, like the Nexus 5. So, I really have no clue why they decided not to light it up on the Nexus 6. What's your take on this?
