Remember the futuristic Skarp laser razor project on Kickstarter? Well, it just got suspended on that crowdfunding site, but it's creator didn't take long to relaunch it again on the more lax Indiegogo.
A laser razor seems something out of a sci-fi movie, and although we cautiously skeptic about it, it didn't stop them from getting over 4 million in pledges. Millions they won't get to see, as Kickstarter just suspended the project because they didn't show an working prototype as required.
All we have so far is a very crude video that allegedly shows a laser razor cutting through a couple of hairs... in a not so impressive way.
This could have been a great opportunity for the project leaders to come forth and answer all the questions that have been raised about the viability of their project. But instead they chose to simply relaunch Skarp on Indiegogo, as if nothing happened (and no mention about being suspended on Kickstarter). An option that won't make them look any better for those that were already suspicious.
The thing is, people are still buying into the whole laser razor idea, and it seems it won't be hard for them to reach (and surpass) their goal once again. Now, we'll have to wait and see if they prove us wrong, or if this become just yet another fraudulent project that found safe harbor on Indiegogo.
