Google let's you choose which side of the Force you prefer (Star Wars)
The upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie is one of the most eagerly awaited movies ever (has surpassed $50 millions in pre-sale tickets) and not even Google seems to be able to escape it's Force.
Should you visit this Google's Star Wars page you'll be given the choice to join either the light or dark side of the Force. And with it you'll forever change your Google experience. (Well, not really forever... just until you want to change it back.)
No matter which side you choose, your Gmail, Calendar, YouTube and many other Google apps and services will adopt a suitable theme that will serve as a constant reminder the awakening is coming. For instance, on Google Maps the usual arrow can become a Tie fighter or X-Wing, depending on your choice. And it seems even Android Wear and Waze will have some tricks too (I do hope I can have Darth Vader giving navigations instructions on Waze: "turn right after passing that imperial destroyer" or "Stop now or feel the full might of the Force!" :)
Google is tracking how many people choose the light/dark side, and you can check how the battle is progressing. Right now, the dark side is winning slightly - and I guess that's easily explained. I guess many people, like myself, might enjoy the Jedi... but prefer to have an imperial destroyer or death star as background on Gmail. :)
